The books that are there are basically totally supportive of the material that the government has put into the curriculum. Say you're doing a project on volcanoes in geography. All that you'd have to do is look in the card catalog and find the subject that you're looking for, then go get the book. Of course, if you ever need any help, you can just ask one of the librarians, Chris Spilchuk or Mary Makarenko.
The Resource Centre also contains much reference material. There is a reference section in the room towards the back. It has several sets of encyclopedias, with lots of other books. These books are very useful for any project that may be pertaining to English or History. While reference material can't be taken out of the library, the workers there would gladly make a photocopy.
Movies are also available for the teachers at the Resource Centre. There are about 3500 different movies that can be watched for classroom purposes. There are also television sets and VCRs that are placed around the school, that the resource center schedules for the different classes around the school.
Lastly, there are many tables and chairs for students to sit in and do their homework at lunch or before school. There are six computers that are there to help finish and print projects, and they also have the internet for conducting research. There is even a couch to relax on. Plants and decorative birds liven up the place, as do the large windows and bright lights. All of this makes the Resource center a very enjoyable place to be.
